We May have had a month when there were only a few visible changes. We focused on backend improvements and added Google Analytics V4 support to the Statistics section. This latter is crucial if you use this feature because you’ll need to update your tracking codes before Universal Analytics is phased out on 1 July 2023. Read the full article for the details.

Google Analytics v4

Easyling can report the requests that are billed according to our old pay as you go model to Google Analytics. As the old version, Universal Analytics, is being phased out, the tracking codes must be updated. This month, we updated our systems to support the new version. If you use this feature, please update your tracking code(s) as soon as possible.

Fixes and tweaks

How surprising, we’ve had some smaller tweaks this month too:

• We noticed and fixed an error in the crawler that resulted in one crawl getting stuck. After the hotfix was deployed, this crawl finished successfully.
• There may be scenarios where the number of words in a Work package is different for the target languages. We fixed a bug that caused the same number to be incorrectly displayed for all of them.
• When sending content to XTM, when a template ID is specified, we no longer send the pre-defined workflow. This ensures that the template’s workflow steps are used.
• The import process can now gather segments with errors into a Work package. You can toggle this feature on or off under Advanced settings → Miscellaneous settings.
• In the Workbench, we fixed a bug that caused issues with the Search and Replace feature when too many segments were selected.
• We fixed the way MT timeouts are handled during a pre-translation process. Instead of a set wait time, we now wait more and more if multiple timeouts happen.
• We improved the way non-Latin characters are handled during path segment translation. You should now be able to add arbitrary translations without too much of a hassle.
